One of the most difficult things on starting any piece of literature is the introduction.
Classical north indian (or hindustani) music has a concept of aalap, which is the introductory piece of the musical performance. During this time, the performer is free to improvise and attempt to get a feel of the raaga. Now while I don’t claim that this blog will reach heights of any kind, I think that this analogy is particularly apt. Consider some of my first few posts to be an aalap, while I try to refine my blogging style and content.
